A fallen tree trapped residents in the Rivoli Run apartment complex in Macon early this morning.
At about 7:30 a.m. Macon-Bibb County firefighters responded to a rescue call and found a large tree blocking the entrance to the complex at Charter Lane which runs behind Northside Hospital off Rivoli Drive.
A motorist had just cleared the entrance when the tree came crashing down.
Crews wielding chainsaws worked to remove the tree and reopened the entrance at about 8:40 a.m.
A wind advisory is posted until 2 a.m. Tuesday due to gusts of 40 miles per hour expected. With the soft ground following last week's heavy rain more trees could topple in the strong winds.
