The bunny trail will lead downtown Friday when NewTown Macon and area businesses partner for an adults-only egg hunt.
This hunt leaves the jellybeans and chocolate rabbits for the kids. Instead, the eggs hidden in restaurants and bars downtown will be filled with goodies ranging from small cash prizes to coupons redeemable for bottles of NewTown’s own labeled wine.
“We’re looking to do more things like this for First Friday,” said NewTown’s Kris Hattaway. “Seasonal things, to sort of spice it up, get the word out about First Friday and get people down here.”
The hunt begins at 5 p.m. and ends when the last egg is found. Participating venues include BJ’s Billiards, Club Synergy, Luigi’s Bistro, Market City Café, Molly’s Café, Spaghetti Alley, The 567 Café, Golden Bough Book Store, Greek Corner Deli, Hummingbird Stage and Taproom, The Rookery and Tic Toc Room.

The egg hunt, a first for NewTown, is free.
Other prizes will include coupons from participating businesses, passes to the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame or a $30 gift certificate to Meadows Fine Jewelry.
First Friday is sponsored by NewTown Macon, a nonprofit organization that promotes downtown. On the first Friday of each month, downtown businesses, restaurants and bars stay open late and offer specials. For patrons with a special wristband and cup, open-container laws are waived in the downtown area until 10 p.m.
