A 29-year-old Dublin woman has been charged with murder following an early Sunday morning argument that left her boyfriend fatally stabbed, Dublin police said.
Police Lt. Greg Dominy said Latour Vontray Norris, of 522 Fair St., called 911 after stabbing Rodriquez Rogers, of Hudson Street, just after 4:30 a.m.
“She told (police) she stabbed him to get him off of her,” Dominy said.
Rogers went to Norris’ apartment and the two argued verbally before things turned physical, police said.
“He grabbed her around the neck and was choking her,” Dominy said.
At some point, the fight moved to the kitchen, where Norris grabbed a knife and stabbed Rogers in the side, Dominy said.
He said police believe the fight continued and that Norris stabbed Rogers twice more in the torso.
Rogers then walked out the front door. He was lying on the ground near the front porch, still breathing, when police arrived, Dominy said.
Police officers performed CPR until emergency medical crews arrived, Dominy said. Rogers later was pronounced dead at Fairview Park Hospital.
Dominy said Norris was taken into custody Sunday morning and charged with murder. She is being held at the Laurens County jail without bond.
Norris and Rogers had dated for several weeks, Dominy said.
