Warner Robins man sentenced to 10 years for armed robbery

WARNER ROBINS — A Warner Robins man was sentenced to 10 years in prison without parole Thursday for the robbery of Sam’s Gift Shop on Carl Vinson Parkway last summer, a Houston County prosecutor says.

Lemar Davey, 29, was sentenced immediately after pleading guilty in Houston County Superior Court to the July 23, 2008, armed robbery, District Attorney Kelly Burke said.

Co-defendant Toledo Bradford, 30, of Warner Robins, who was also charged with armed robbery, is awaiting trial, Burke said.

The men were caught fleeing the scene of the armed robbery.

Davey and Bradford were accused of coming into the store, which features video gambling, brandishing a meat cleaver and robbing three female customers, authorities said.

A fourth customer, who was about to enter the store, saw what was happening and called 911, police said.
