Third Street Park festivities likely to move

The forecast calls for showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 2 p.m., then showers and thunderstorms after 2, with wind gusts of up to 15 mph. The National Weather Service said the Macon area could get from 1 to 2 inches.

There’s a 90 percent chance of rain today, and Cherry Blossom Festival events that traditionally are held in Third Street Park each day will probably move to the Terminal Station, 200 Cherry St.

“I would plan on it being at the Terminal Station,” said Stacy Campbell, the festival’s spokeswoman.
