Up to 6 inches of snow fell in Monroe County

The late winter snow storm that swept through Georgia dumped a half a foot of snow on some parts of Monroe, Jasper and Oconee counties while Jones County reported three inches of snow.

The National Weather Service compiled a list of snowfall totals based on reports from weather watchers and county observers.

The heaviest snowfall was reported in Madison County which received 7 inches of snow while Clarke County near Winterville reported 6.5 inches.

In Middle Georgia trace amounts of snow were reported in Baldwin, Crisp, Dodge, Dooly, Laurens, Peach and Wilkinson counties.

The National Weather Service reported an inch of snow at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport near Macon and a general report of up to two inches throughout Middle Georgia although no official spotter report was listed for Bibb or Houston counties.

Other Middle Georgia counties reporting snow include: Morgan - 4 inches; Upson - 3 inches; Crawford, Greene, Hancock, Putnam, Taylor and Lamar - 2 inches; Twiggs - 1.5 inches.
