Macon police probe three armed robberies

Macon police are looking for the men who robbed three businesses during the weekend including a man who used a carpenter’s ax to convince the clerk to hand over the cash, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

About 3:30 a.m. Saturday, a man wearing a stocking mask on his face carried an ax into the Flash Foods, 3889 Vineville Ave. After taking money from the store, he ran away. Saturday afternoon about 3:30 p.m., a gunman wearing a dark bandanna across his face robbed the Game Stop, 4221 Mercer University Drive.

About 12:30 a.m. Sunday, a masked gunman robbed the Kwik Trip at 1925 Forsyth St. The gunman, who had a bandanna over his face, forced a store employee back into the store and ordered another worker to give him money before he ran behind the building.
