Macon police investigate three weekend armed robberies

Macon police are looking for the men who robbed three businesses over the weekend including a man who used a carpenter's axe to convince the clerk the hand over the cash, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.

At about 3:30 a.m. Saturday a 200-pound white man about 6 feet tall carried the axe into the Flash Foods at 3889 Vineville Ave. After taking money from the store he ran away. Police say the man was wearing blue jeans with a hole in the left knee, a blue hooded sweatshirt and a black stocking mask with holes cut in it.

Saturday afternoon at about 3:30 p.m. a 6-foot tall black gunman wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatshirt, white Air Force One tennis shoes and dark bandanna across his face robbed the Game Stop at 4221 Mercer University Drive.

At about 12:30 a.m. Sunday a masked gunman about 6-feet tall who was wearing dark-colored pants and a light-colored jacket robbed the Kwik Trip at 1925 Forsyth St. The gunman who had a bandanna over his face forced a store employee back into the store and ordered another worker to give him money before he ran behind the building.

Police have not said whether they suspect any of these cases are related.
