Macon Burger King robbed

Three men armed with handguns and a rifle robbed Burger King, 1188 Gray Highway, early Saturday morning, according to a Macon police report released Monday

An employee told police that he was standing at the back door about 4:40 a.m. while delivery men unloaded a truck, according to the report.

Three armed men, all wearing hoods and masks, ran from behind the truck and ordered everyone to the ground except the employee. They forced the employee to take them to the safe where they took cash, according to the report.

The robbers dropped $240 in quarters while running to their getaway car, a Honda Accord, according to the report.

Just after 7:30 a.m., police responded to the 800 block of Applewood Street, where a resident discovered an abandoned Honda Accord. About the same time, a woman living at Highland Hills Apartments, 2275 Gray Highway, reported her Honda Accord was stolen, according to the report.

Officers determined the car found on Applewood Street belonged to the woman and found two cash drawers behind one of the apartment units, according to the report.
