Police seek suspect in hit-and-run incident

Macon police are looking for the driver who hit a woman and failed to stop Monday morning on Crescent Avenue.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m., the injured woman knocked on the door of a house at the corner of Crescent and Hillcrest avenues and asked the woman inside to call police.

Police officer William Barron said they are looking for the young male driver of a brown compact car, possibly a Honda Accord, who struck the woman and drove off.

The woman, whose identity was not immediately released, did not appear to have suffered visible injuries but an ambulance crew took her to The Medical Center of Central Georgia to be examined, Barron said.

Anyone with information about the accident should call Macon police at 751-7500 or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at (877) 68CRIME.
