Armed man in black robs restaurant

The Popeye’s restaurant at 3246 Mercer University Drive in Macon was robbed at gunpoint Sunday evening, according to the Macon Police Department. A man dressed in all black left the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of money, department spokeswoman Melanie Hofmann said. A manager at the restaurant said no one was hurt in the robbery.“Somebody came in at 8 o’clock and jumped over the counter and robbed the crew,” manager Allina Futch said.Further details were not available from the police department.
