After bitter cold temperatures Saturday morning there is a slight chance of snow showers and frozen precipitation Sunday night in Middle Georgia.
National Weather Service forecasters say it's a matter of timing but a high pressure system moving off the coast will sweep moisture into the state as the temperature drops to 29 for Monday's low.
While the forecaster was not confident enough to mention any possible accumulation there could be a dusting of snow in the mountains of north Georgia, according to this morning's forecast discussion.
Today's immediate threat is from high fire danger in the cold dry air and winds. A red flag warning is issued today from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday as the dry conditions linger before moisture moves in behind the high.
