It will likely be after 10 a.m. until traffic is flowing normally in the northbound lanes of Ga. 247 near Robins Air Force Base.
A Vietnam era fighter jet is being towed slowly along the highway so it can be painted and returned to display at the Museum of Aviation.
Crews began towing the F-105 at 9 a.m. and hoped to be finished by 9:45 a.m. but it is taking longer than anticipated.
A portion of the base fence has been removed just past the Green Street entrance to bring the jet in to the base to be washed and repainted.
