Tornado watch posted until 3 p.m. for Middle Georgia

The potential for turbulent weather has prompted The National Weather Service to issue a tornado watch until 3 p.m. today.

A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for formation of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes and severe weather.

The watch includes several counties in the central part of the state including Bibb, Houston, Peach, Baldwin, Putnam, Jones, Macon, Taylor, Upson, but at this point does not include counties in the eastern edge of the central region such as Laurens and Telfair.
