Winds of up to 30 miles per hour today have prompted a wind advisory for Middle Georgia today.
Strong and gusty winds will pick up behind a cold front crossing the state bringing the advisory from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The winds could whip up wild fires in drought conditions so the National Weather Service has also issued a red flag warning due to high fire danger today from 7 a.m. unitl 6 p.m. and Saturday from noon until 7 p.m.
