Motorists are having to detour off Broadway due to downed utility lines in Macon's industrial sector.
Orange cones are blocking Broadway at the intersection with Raines Avenue about two blocks away from Eisenhower Parkway.
Georgia Power reports service has been restored to 800 customers near Broadway and Houston Avenue who lost electricity with a severe thunderstorm that unleashed lightning strikes at about 4 a.m. today.
Lines and transformers were knocked out during the storm but crews repaired the damage and the power came back on just after 8 a.m., said Georgia Power spokeswoman Carol Boatright.
