Alcohol was involved in an accident that killed a Macon man Thursday night on Forsyth Road in front of the Kroger.
Bibb County coroner Leon Jones said Gregory Yates, 37, was driving a Chevy S-10 pickup when he crossed the center line and smashed into a Honda Accord.
"Mr. Yates was heavily intoxicated," Jones said this morning.
Yates suffered massive internal injuries in the collision, Jones said.

He was pronounced dead at The Medcial Center of Central Georgia shortly after the 9:40 p.m. accident, according to a news release from the Macon Police Department.
The driver of the Honda, Kelvin Stanley, 32, of Perdue Street in Macon, was still in the emergency room this morning, Jones said.
Stanley's passenger, 27-year-old Keon Wilcher of Macon, was headed to surgery to repair his broken leg, Jones said.
"The front end of the pickup was pushed into the driver," Jones said of the wreckage. "The Honda was ripped, it was just crumbled like a can."
The Macon Police Department is investigating the accident.
