Arson investigator probing overnight fire in vacant house

An arson investigator from the Macon-Bibb Fire Department will try to determine whether an early morning house fire was deliberately set.

When firefighters arrived shortly before 4 a.m. the vacant one-story block house at 4241 Elkan Ave. was already fully in flames, said District Chief James Wallace.

The fire gutted the two-bedroom house that did not have power hooked up to it, Wallace said.
