A Macon man is headed to Baton Rouge, La. to assist with American Red Cross relief efforts due to Hurricane Gustav.
Donnie Edwards will travel to Louisiana today as the Red Cross wages what is expected to be its costliest relief operation since Hurricane Katrina, according to a news release from the American Red Cross.
The agency expects to spend between $50 million and $70 million dollars assisting victims from the storm.
Edwards is the third volunteer from the midstate to assist in this year's hurricane relief efforts.
