Macon Mayor Robert Reichert’s office sent out a revised version of the proposed annexation map this afternoon.
The map has been sent to the Bibb County Board of Elections for their review, according to the mayor’s office, and the city is anticipating a vote from affected residents during the July 15 primary.
The new map differs in several areas, but particularly in that proposed annexations in Jones County, which proved wildly unpopular, have been removed. So has the annexation of largely unpopulated areas on the city’s eastern and southern borders.
