Jack-knifed tractor-trailer blocks I-16 entrance, slows traffic on I-75

A tractor-trailer jack-knifed as its driver was turning onto the I-16 entrance ramp from I-75 north this afternoon.

Lance Hartley said he was in the left-hand lane when another tractor-trailer tried to merge into his lane. Hartley applied the brakes, hydroplaned on the wet road and jack-knifed into the guardrail in the curve heading toward the Ocmulgee River bridge.

The entrance to I-16 is currently blocked as wreckers remove the damaged tractor-trailer, which crashed into the guardrail shortly after 12:30 p.m. No one was hurt in the accident, Hartley said.
