A Roberta woman was killed Tuesday evening in an accident on Ga. 7 south of Roberta in Crawford County.
Murleen Cornwell Ruest, 72, of Horne Road, was traveling northbound on the two-lane highway at about 7 p.m. when she crossed the center line into the southbound lane and continued to drive north, according to Trooper Darryl Glass of the Georgia State Patrol in Thomaston.
Ruest, who drove a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, grazed a 1987 Buick Century driven by Lorene D. Miller of Roberta before she struck a Ford Expedition head on about 660 feet later, Glass said.
The driver of the sports utility vehicle, Jerrie Locket of Roberta, his passenger, Rosa Johnson of Roberta, and Miller were transported to The Medical Center of Central Georgia with injuries.

Ruest was transported to Peach Regional Medical Center. Glass could not confirm if she was pronounced dead at the scene or at the hospital.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
"We don't know if alcohol is involved at this time," Glass said. "The accident is still under investigation." No traffic charges are pending.
"The deceased was the at fault party," Glass said.
