Centerville firefighters pulled an unconscious elderly woman from a burning home at 102 Anne Drive late Monday night.
Firefighters arrived at about 11:30 p.m. and began searching for the woman, said Jason Jones, assistant chief of the Centerville Fire Department.
"We had to search in the thick smoke and found her in the third room we went into which was a kitchen breakfast area," Jones said. "It was really scary. It was a rough night."
The brick one-story house sustained heavy damage over three-fourths of the structure, Jones said.

Firefighters will go back to the scene this morning to try to determine what sparked the fire, Jones said.
