After a few days grace, Macon once again set another heat record during August. Temperatures reached a high of 103 degrees on Fahrenheit Wednesday at 2:41 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
That breaks the old mark of 102 degrees, set in 1995.
Temperatures are expected to be only slightly better Thursday. Forecasters for the National Weather Service said the highs today should reach 100 degrees, which would fall short of the record of 104 degrees set in 1954. The heat index should be between 102 and 106, and there is no chance of rain.
