ATLANTA - The Georgia Senate has approved its version of the state's 2008 budget, setting up a showdown tomorrow as House and Senate leaders continue their battle over state spending.
The Senate approved the $20.2 billion budget 53-1. Significant differences between that budget and the House's version are expected to be discussed Wednesday during joint conference committee meetings.
Both sides must approve the same budget for it to take effect.
