Legislature votes to pay $1.2M to wrongly convicted man

Both the Georgia House of Representatives and Senate have signed off on legislation to pay $1.2 million to a may wrongly imprisoned some 24 years for a rape he did not commit.

The two bodies had previously approved House Resolution 102, but the House had to vote to agree with a small change made by the Senate. House members did so this afternoon, 119-18.

Robert Clark, who was proven innocent by DNA evidence, will get his money after Gov. Sonny Perdue signs the resolution into law.
