Bathe the dogs and grab the kids! We’re going to a pet show next Sunday, April 26. And I will be there, too, all nice and clean and cute!
I’m so excited that I’m looking in my closet trying to find just the right thing to wear. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a pet show, so I’m trying on several outfits to see how I look. I’m going to need a lot of mirror time.
I’m so happy to tell you my nonprofit animal group, Central Georgia CARES, will be working with the Museum of Arts and Sciences and Coliseum Northside Hospital for the Museum’s 59th annual Pet Show. But it’s the first time we’ll have the pet show on the lovely campus of the Coliseum Northside Hospital campus. In fact, CARES will be offering a low-cost vaccine clinic for dogs and cats.
If it’s time to have your fur babies’ booster shots updated, this will be an event you won’t want to miss. We’ll be giving booster shots and rabies shots for $10 for each shot for dogs, and kitty shots will be $20. These prices to get your babies current on their shots are great. It would surprise me if you found them for better prices anywhere else. Also we’re going to have two presentations by the amazing Georgia Irish Frisbee Dogs. They are so entertaining and so much fun to watch.
We’ll be out on the beautiful lawn of Coliseum Northside Hospital where there is tons of well-manicured space. In addition to the low-cost vaccine, we’ll have games, treats, vendors, face painting and even pony rides! When is the last time you’ve put the kids on calm ponies that will walk them around?
We’re asking for you to bring large, 20-pound bags of Pedigree dog food and bags of Nine Lives kitty food to donate to CARES. This will help CARES with their project of helping Meals on Wheels. Each week CARES feeds 96 dogs and cats of Meals on Wheels recipients, so we always need to collect food for them.
The contest is going to be so much fun. We need to register for that at 2 p.m., and judging begins at 3 p.m. Bring $2 with you since that will be the charge for the registration.
Please make sure you bring your pet on a leash with a non-slip collar. If you’re not sure what kind that is, run on out to the pet store and ask for a martingale collar. Those are really safe.
Make sure you mark you calendars to come out with me to the pet show. I’ll be looking for you!
