3 new restaurants, food spots pop up across Middle Georgia. What to know

From a sophisticated new Mexican cantina in Perry to a beloved barbecue institution’s new Warner Robins location, Middle Georgia’s food scene is heating up this summer.

Here’s a roundup of The Telegraph’s recent stories about the latest openings in our area.

Dutch Bros Coffee, the Oregon-based drive-thru chain known for its Rebel energy drinks and nitrogen-infused cold brew, is opening a second Middle Georgia location at 5781 Zebulon Rd. in Macon this summer, following its Warner Robins debut in 2025.

Yuliana and Fernando Barradas recently opened El Metate Cantina Mexicana at 1904 Houston Lake Road in Perry, offering a more upscale take on their popular El Metate Mexican Restaurant concept with traditional fare plus more steak and burger options.

The Perry cantina seats 186 people and features a large circular bar, faux flowers hanging from the ceiling and a mural honoring Yuliana Barradas’ late grandparents and their hometown of Guadalajara. Hours run 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Fincher’s Barbecue opened its new Warner Robins location on May 15 at 102 South Armed Forces Blvd., across from Robins Air Force Base, replacing its former Davis Drive spot and packing the parking lot on opening day.

The new Fincher’s serves breakfast favorites like eggs, grits, bacon and country ham starting at 6 a.m. for dine-in customers, along with its famous pulled pork, Brunswick stew and the popular “Super Pig” sandwich — the drive-thru opens at 5:30 a.m. on weekdays and the restaurant is closed weekends.
