This GA Irish pub was voted one of the best restaurants of 2025 by USA Today. Here’s why
Atmosphere, menu, taste and service. These are just some of the ingredients that make a good restaurant. But what determines the best restaurants?
Well, USA Today ventured to answer that question and found 44 of the best restaurants in the country, offering amazing ambiance, masterful menus and some of the best flavors of 2025. From barbecue in Alabama to seafood in Florida and Italian food in New York, the list is full of flavor.
So, which Georgia restaurant made the list?

What: Irish Pub offering traditional dishes with a twist.
“Wexford’s generosity of spirit(s) backed by its thoughtful, cozy aesthetic and equally comforting menu are just a few reasons why it has been named to USA Today’s 2025 Restaurants of the Year list,” according to Amy Paige Condon, local food writer with Savannah Morning News.
Condon noted that the restaurant’s design “seamlessly tells the unique story of Irish immigration to Georgia’s first city” because it blends bold, industrial exterior elements with more classic and traditional pieces such as stained glass.
Moreover, Condon praised the food at Wexford for being “clever, comforting and deeply satisfying,” to which she recommended the following dishes:
Guinness pot roast sandwich: braised beef, Swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, horseradish aioli and crispy fried onions on French bread with au jus.
Shepherd’s pie: ground lamb, ground beef, carrots, onions, green peas and mashed potatoes. Served with a wee salad.
Pan-seared cod: lemon, butter and garlic served over sauteed spinach and wee tomatoes.
And to drink, Condon said to try:
