Make mom happy this winter by serving her a warm and tasty beverage known as Hot Chocolate on a Stick. Actually, mom gets to drink the hot chocolate from a mug, but the flavor 'packet' for this dessert comes firmly solidified in cube form on the bottom of a stick.
It's a newfangled way for making hot chocolate.
Simply heat up 6- to- 8 ounces of milk in a mug and then submerge the stick with chocolate cube into the milk. The chocolate cube, at the base of the stick, begins to melt and then entirely dissolves as it heats up. The fun in all of this is that you get to stir the cube with the stirrer as the cube melts. It takes about two to three minutes for the chocolate cube to dissolve and then you have a convenient stirrer left to keep swirling the chocolate around.
Hot Chocolate on a Stick is sold through uncommongoods.com for $36. The package features two each of the French truffle, peanut butter, peppermint, and salted caramel flavors. All of these flavors are very rich; an added bonus is the small piece of candy cane or peanut butter cup that comes melted into the cube at the top of the peppermint and peanut butter flavors.
