NATIONAL AMERICAN INDIAN HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATIONS

The Cultural Center at Georgia College in Milledgeville will be celebrating National American Indian Heritage Month with the following free events: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. Nov. 17-18: Creek Indian Village; learn about the way the Muscogee or Creek Indians lived by visiting the outdoor exhibit; Neal Parr and his wife will talk about the traditions of this Georgia tribe. 6 p.m. Nov. 19, Arts and Sciences 272: “In Whose Honor? American Indian Mascots in Sports”; Connie Rickenbaker will facilitate a discussion of Native American mascots. www.gcsu.edu/equity.
