Another commanding performance by the Warner Robins 11-12 All-Stars ended up as a 20-0 win over West Point Little League on Sunday in four innings at the state tournament.
Tee Adams was the starting pitcher and was followed by Tyler Mayfield, Lawson Trawick and Jackson Will to combine for a no-hitter.
Mayfield struck out the four consecutive batters he faced in the 20 pitches he threw.
All four pitchers will be available for Monday’s game against Coastal Little League.
Leyton Pinckney added to his home run count with three Sunday, including a grand slam in the top of fourth. Lawson Trawick and Bryce Morgan each had a home run.
Pinckney had eight RBI, Kody Winner added two, Morgan and Trawick had three and Reggie Ling, Jackson Jones and Connor Bookout each had one.
“That team had to use up a lot of their pitching (Saturday) against Columbus (Northern),” manager Martin Pinckney said of West Point pitching woes.
Even though Warner Robins has dominated the first two games at the tournament, Martin Pinckney said the competition will get tougher from here on out.
“It should be a competitive contest,” he said of Monday’s 8:30 p.m. game against Coastal Little League, which beat Murphey Candler 11-0.
Martin Pinckney has told his players the win over the Coastal team will help them get one step closer to their goal of reaching the semifinals Thursday by being one of the top two seeds in pool play.
“We are going to be really prepared,” he said.
