Chef's Salad

2 to 3 leaves romaine lettuce, broken into bite-size pieces

1/2 carrot, peeled into ribbons

5 or 6 cherry or grape tomatoes, halved

1 to 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds

1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Ranch dressing (see below)

Combine lettuce and carrot ribbons in one container; the other ingredients will travel best if kept separate and combined just before eating.
