Combine all ingredients with 1 cup water and beat with a wooden spoon until smooth. In a large kettle, bring 2 quarts of salted water to a boil. Spread 2 teaspoons of dough on a pancake turner, covering the surface. With a moistened spatula, cut off small pieces of dough, and let them drop into the boiling water. (Each one should use about 1/2 teaspoon of dough.) Cook a fourth of the dough at a time. Boil gently, uncovered, until they are firm and rise to the top, about 8 minutes. Remove with slotted spoon.
