WORLD SERIES BOUND ...

Warner Robins American Little League defeated Alabama 10-9 on Thursday in Gulfport, Fla., earning a trip to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Kendall Scott led the way for Warner Robins, hitting two home runs. Scott also earned the win in relief.

Warner Robins built a 7-1 lead, but Alabama whittled away for several innings and briefly took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. But Warner Robins rebounded in the top of the fifth to retake the lead 10-9.

The Little League World Series begins Aug. 17. Warner Robins will play the Northwest champion at 8 p.m.
