Late Night Politics

Be prepared for a pretty late night tonight as the election results roll in, both the national ones and the state/local ones.

You have a cornucopia of choices to get those results, since the networks and the cable news channels will begin their coverage pretty early.

Hopefully, this election won't be like the old days where networks used to call a state at 7:01 p.m. "Well, with 1 percent of the results in, we're ready to call New York for _____." I used to hate that, and the networks agreed to stop doing it for a while because it was influencing West Coast voters, whose polls were still open.

On the other hand, with the election being so close in the survey polls, I don't expect the pundits to wait long as the results come in.

For local results, you can check in on macon.com, which will be constantly updated through the night.

TUESDAY'S BEST BET: And pretty much only bet -- "Sons of Anarchy" (FX, 10 p.m.) is new, so if you get worn out listening to all of the political spin, you have the option of watching one of TV's best shows.
