Just a quick note today because I'm out for the weekend.
Showtime returns two of its more notable comedies, "Weeds" and "Episodes," Sunday night beginning at 10 p.m.
The former, which helped the network establish its comedy roots, is in its last season. As for the latter, starring former "Friends" star Matt LeBlanc as a cartoonish version of himself, I think it's one of the funniest comedies on the air, and here's hoping Emmy voters remembered LeBlanc when they turn in their ballots today.
Also new Sunday is a prequel to the "Inspector Morse" series on "Masterpiece: Mystery." Set in 1965, "Endeavour" (PBS, 9 p.m.) follows Morse as a rookie police officer.
NBC has Olympic trials going all weekend.
Tonight, there's a new "Common Law" (USA, 10 p.m.)
