Just a quick roundup for today, highlighted by a guest visit from Judy Greer on "Modern Family" (ABC, 8 p.m.) as Phil's (Ty Burrell) ex-girlfriend, with whom he reconnects on Facebook. I have high hopes for this episode. The return of "Scrubs" after a month or so off leads off the night for ABC, followed by "The Middle," "Cougar Town" at 9:30 p.m. and "Ugly Betty" at 10 p.m.
"Human Target" (Fox, 8 p.m.) returns after a couple of weeks off, followed by the eight male semifinalists squaring off on "American Idol" at 9 p.m.
CBS is all-new with "Old Christine," "Gary Unmarried," "Criminal Minds" and "CSI: NY."
NBC has a new "Mercy" at 8 p.m., followed by "Law & Order: SVU" at 10 p.m.
Meanwhile, the CW inflicts "High Society" upon us at 9:30 p.m., a new so-called reality show following socialites. I didn't like it the first time around when it was called the "Real Housewives of _____."
On cable, "Psych" (USA, 10 p.m.) wraps up the season with an unusually tense episode featuring the return of Ally Sheedy as a serial killer. I stopped watching this show a while ago, but for some reason I popped in the DVD screener and was entertained.
Finally, what I think is the funniest show on TV right now, "The In-Betweeners" (BBC America, 9:30 p.m.) is all new as well.
