It's not often that I pick a rerun as the must-see thing of the night -- unless the rerun is the season finale for "Lost."
If you are getting ready for next week's three-hour "Lost" three-hour premiere event -- and hey, even the White House moved the State of the Union to tomorrow so as not to conflict with that -- what better way than to watch last year's two-hour finale tonight (ABC, 9 p.m.)
Some teasers for those who may have forgotten -- we see the mysterious Jacob and see what influence he had on the lives of the characters, we meet another mysterious being with a close connection to Locke (Terry O'Quinn), Jack (Matthew Fox) tries to put his plan to save everyone into motion despite objections from Sawyer (Josh Holloway) and the others, and Juliet encounters a hydrogen bomb.
I'll preview more of "Lost" next week, but this should be enough to whet some appetites.
TUESDAY'S BEST BETS: The "Lost" rerun is preceded by new episodes of "Scrubs" and "Better Off Ted," beginning at 8 p.m.
CBS airs new episodes of "NCIS" and "NCIS:LA" from 8-10 p.m., but "The Good Wife" is a rerun.
Fox has made "Human Target" a moving target, airing a new episode tonight at 9 p.m. even though its normal day is Wednesdays. It follows a new "American Idol" (Fox, 8 p.m.) with guest judges Avril Lavigne and Katy Perry.
"The Biggest Loser" (NBC, 8 p.m.) is also new.
For those who missed it, SyFy is rerunning the "Caprica" pilot tonight at 8 p.m. It's a good chance to catch up with this series.
Also on cable, TNT airs "Southland" at 10 p.m., opposite "White Collar" (USA, 10 p.m.)
