As part of the ongoing Music and the Arts at Vineville series, “Lux and Lapis -- Music for Two Trumpets and Organ” will be performed Sunday at Vineville United Methodist Church.
The trio, made up of Adam Hayes and Joel Treybig on trumpets and Andrew Risinger on the organ, will perform a program that “includes diverse and exciting works from a variety of countries and periods,” featuring “compositions far outside of the well-known works within the trumpet repertory,” according to a news release. The program also will include the “Lux et Lapis” piece commissioned by Hayes and Treybig and composed by Kevin McKee.
According to their bios, Hayes earned his bachelor of music degree from the University of Georgia and is an “internationally recognized performer, educator and clinician” who has performed with more than 40 professional orchestras throughout the world.
Treybig has performed with the Chattanooga Symphony, Nashville Ballet, Nashville Symphony and Nashville Opera and as a guest artist at venues such as the Midwest Trumpet Festival and Piccolo Spoleto Festival.
