Art will come to life tonight at the Dark Eden body painting event at SoChi Gallery.
“Live body painting is a concept that is catching on nationwide but has never been done here before. It’s a relatively new concept and just something I wanted to do and incorporate into the community,” said Daniel Montoute, creator and host.
More than 20 models will act as canvasses for artists from both Macon and around the country. For most of the local artists, Dark Eden will be their first show and the group atmosphere helps those emerging artists, Montoute said.
“Guests who arrive right on time will get to see the artists still talking to their models and hear that dialogue on their vision and then start painting. They will get to see the whole process from start to finish,” he said.

The evening has a masquerade theme and guests are invited to dress accordingly, though there is not a strict dress code. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Macon Youth Mentorship Program.
