The Georgia College baseball program announced the addition of Ian Humphrey as an assistant coach Tuesday.
Humphrey previously worked at West Virginia State as an assistant baseball coach. Humphrey is from Poca, West Virginia, and played college baseball for Concord. He was the starting catcher for four years and was a West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) Tournament Champion in 2011.
“We are very excited about adding Coach Humphrey to our coaching staff,” Bobcats head coach Tom Carty said. “He brings with him a strong work ethic and baseball knowledge which should easily translate to our players on a daily basis. Ian worked for two coaches (Cal Bailey and Sean Loyd) I have a lot of respect for at West Virginia State University. He was also recommended by a former GC bBaseball player who is now an assistant coach at Central Methodist University, Matt LaMothe. We feel Ian compliments our staff well, and we look forward to helping him grow as a coach.”
