Macon’s Russell Henley will play in the PGA Championship starting Thursday, marking the PGA Tour rookie’s fourth appearance in a major championship this year.
Henley missed the cut in the Masters and the U.S. Open, but he finished tied for 73rd in the British Open.
Henley will be paired with Danny Willett from England and Joost Luiten from the Netherlands for the first two rounds of the tournament. They will tee off at 12:40 p.m. in the first round and 7:40 a.m. in the second.
Henley won his first tournament as a member of the PGA Tour in January at the Sony Open. He has three top-10 finishes and five in the top 25 while making the cut in 15 of the 20 tournaments he has entered.
Never miss a local story.
The PGA Championship will be played at Oak Hill Country Club in Piitsford, N.Y.
