High school basketball championships will be on the line this week at the Macon Coliseum and Mercer’s Hawkins Arena, and a few Middle Georgia teams are still in the hunt.
The GHSA will hold all 14 of its championship games -- seven boys and seven girls -- at the Coliseum. There are four games Thursday and Friday and then six games Saturday.
On Thursday, the Taylor County girls will take aim at the Class A public school title. The Vikings beat Terrell County in the semifinals and will face Turner County at 3 p.m. Turner County beat Randolph-Clay in the semifinals.
On Friday, Crawford County’s boys makes their long-awaited return to the championship game and will face Seminole County at 4:45 p.m. in the Class AA game. The Eagles beat Swainsboro in the semifinals, while Seminole County beat Vidalia.

The GISA semifinals and finals are being played at Hawkins Arena with Windsor’s boys and both Gatewood teams reaching the semifinals.
Gatewood’s girls beat Terrell Academy in the second round and will play Heritage at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday in the Class AAA semifinals.
On Friday, the boys semifinals will be played with Windsor facing Dawson Street Christian in Class AA at 2:30 p.m. and Gatewood playing Griffin Christian in Class AAA at 5:30 p.m. Windsor beat Grace Christian in the semifinals, while Gatewood beat Terrell Academy.
The championship games will be played Saturday.
