But the win didn’t help the Tigers cut into Northside’s hold on No. 1 in Class AAAAA of the Georgia Sportswriters Association Prep Football Poll.
The Eagles received 14 of the 17 first-place votes this week, with Tucker nabbing the other three.
Warner Robins stayed at No. 7 again this week. Both teams remain undefeated 17 days from their anticipated rivalry matchup.
Mary Persons held steady at No. 6 in Class AAAA as there was no movement in the classification, which is led by Sandy Creek.
Washington County remained at No. 3 in Class AAA after a dominant 40-0 win over Jefferson County, which fell from No. 5 to No. 9. Buford is still No. 1.
Lamar County dropped to No. 2 this week in Class AA. The Trojans were tied with Greater Atlanta Christian atop the poll last week. They received seven first-place votes – GACS had eight – and finished three points out of first place. Vidalia fell a spot to No. 9.
Johnson County moved up one spot to No. 6 in Class A after fifth-ranked Irwin County lost to Clinch County. Eagle’s Landing Christian stayed at No. 1.
North Gwinnett was a unanimous No. 1 in Class AAAAAA after a 50-47 win over Mill Creek.
