The Westside Seminoles entered the Georgia Sportswriters Association Prep Football Poll this week for the first time this season.
The Seminoles entered the Class AAAA poll at No. 9 following their 50-13 win over Central, moving them to 24-0 all-time against Bibb County opponents.
Mary Persons received votes following its win over Jackson. Sandy Creek remained No. 1, although Burke County and Carrollton each pulled one first-place vote away from Sandy Creek after the Patriots tied Plant (Fla.).
Northside remained second in Class AAAAA following a dominant 28-6 win over Flowery Branch, which dropped a spot to No. 10. Warner Robins moved up two spots following a 21-10 win over Veterans. Gainesville was the unanimous No. 1.
Peach County is still ranked fourth in Class AAA, three spots behind No. 1 Buford, after a win over rival Perry. Washington County is ranked sixth.
There were few changes in Class AA, with Calhoun remaining at No. 1 and Lamar County staying at No. 3.
Wilcox County stayed at No. 5 in Class A after a win over Wilkinson County, which fell out of the top 10. Dooly County, which lost to Macon County, also dropped out of the top 10. Eagle’s Landing Christian remains ranked No. 1 in Class A.
North Gwinnett moved into the top spot in Class AAAAAA following a 35-0 win over Grayson. The Bulldogs are the third No. 1 in AAAAAA in three weeks. They elevated to the top spot following Colquitt County’s loss to Hoover (Ala.).
