Loganville Christian closed out its first GISA basketball season in style Saturday, beating Deerfield-Windsor 74-65 to win the Class AAA championship at Hawkins Arena.
Seth Dossett scored 23 points, Caleb Boykin added 19 and Blake Odgers scored 15 to lead the Lions to the impressive win over perennial championship contender Deerfield.
The Lions’ win spoiled a fantastic effort from Deerfield senior Ramello Carter, who scored 32 points. Carter led the Knights on a 21-0 run to close the game Friday night in a comeback win over Dominion Christian.
Deerfield pulled to within three points in the game’s final minutes, but Loganville iced the win with steady foul shooting in the final minute.
