ATHENS - There have been years that Georgia's football and basketball teams have been hit hard by players leaving early for the pros. This was not one of those years. In fact, neither team was hit at all.
Georgia was one of just three SEC schools that didn't have anyone declare for either the NFL or NBA drafts. Arkansas and Mississippi State were the other two.
The last time the UGA football program didn't have a player declare early for the draft was 2008, per a team spokesman, and prior to that it was 2000. The basketball program loses players less frequently, but it has happened twice in the past four years.
