Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson is tonight’s speaker at the Macon Touchdown Club.
The club meets at The Methodist Home for Children and Youth at 304 Pierce Avenue. The program begins at 6:30 p.m.
FPD is the featured high school. Georgia Southern head coach and Maconite Chris Hatcher is next week’s speaker.
Johnson is 15-5 in his second season at Georgia Tech, which is off a 28-23 win Saturday over then-No. 4 Virginia Tech, the Yellow Jackets’ first win over a top-5 team since a 14-10 win over No. 3 Miami in 2005. It was the first win at home over a top-10 team since they knocked off No. 7 Virginia 41-38 11 years ago to the day of Saturday’s victory.
Never miss a local story.
Johnson, a 1979 graduate of Western Carolina, is 122-44 in 12-plus season as head coach at Georgia Southern, Navy and Tech. His only losing season was a 2-10 mark in his first year at Navy in 2002.
