Nestled against the trunk of a large oak, I pushed the start button on the electronic caller. Fifty yards out, a decoy began to shimmy and the death cries of a rabbit floated across the woods.
On a perfect hunting day this week, my wife and I were sitting comfortably in our blind overlooking a two-acre food plot. An hour before dark, two does strolled in. Then four more does and a yearling buck arrived. They fed on clover for a few minutes and suddenly all the deer came to full alert, looking in the same direction with ears up and forward.
